Amarnath Yatra dates have been announced and
the Registration process is going on.As per reports available on 6th
June, 2012, approximately 2.5 lakh yatris have registered for the
yatra.
There are two tracks or routes for performing the Amarnath yatra :
One is traditional route known as Pahalgam to Amarnath and the other is
new route called as Baltal to Amarnath
In this article, we will discuss the Yatra from Baltal to Amarnath Route and
provide the relevant information for undertaking the yatra across this
route
Amarnath yatra via Baltal
Baltal
is located at a distance of only 14 Kms from the Holy cave.It is also
the shortest route when compared to pahalgam route.The distance between
the Baltal and the Holy cave can be covered by foot and ponies.This
route is said to be difficult as it is a pebbled (Kucchha) Road.But the
major benefit of this route is that yatris can return to Base Camp
(Baltal) with in a Day
Baltal ----> Domail ---> Barari ---->Sangam----> Holy Cave
Here a few steps yatris must undergo, who wish to perform Amarnath yatra via Baltal Route
- At the Baltal Base camp, you mobile phones will not work, But to provide telecommunication services to pilgrims, there are Telephone Booths established by the Government, that are connected via satellites.

- The Baltal Route leads to Domail, which is at a distance of 5 Kms, after that comes Barari is located at a distance of 4Km from Domail.After that comes Sangam.The Sangam is the confluence point of Baltal and Pahalgam.
- At Sangam, there are several eating points mainly free langars that can be used to feed the empty stomach.Form Sangam the Holy cave is only at a distance of 3kms
- At the holy cave, there are several Prasadam camps, where yatris can buy the prasad and head for Darshan in the Holy Cave
In this way, one can perform the Amarnath Yatra from the Baltal
Rout.In case, you did not perform the Amarnath yatra by foot, then you
